3D Creator DUAL- innovative optical sensor system for the measurement of big objects The 3D Creator is based on the latest 3D navigation technology and is the ideal solution to capture the 3D coordinates of an even large sized object with a freehand pencil probe in the defined work space. The 3D Creator DUAL is an optical sensor syetem, which consists of two sensor units, two synchronised control units and a free movable probe or laser scanner, of which the position and vectors are exactly defined via the infrared detection. The infrared LEDs of the probe, which can also be mounted on different objects, can be detected up to a distance of 8m-10m between the two sensor units placed in an opposite position. The exact 3D coordinates X,Y,Z and the vectors U,V,W, which are measured and calculated in real time, can be used for further investigation or for direct CAD model comparison. |

The following two diagrams indicate the optimum working range and accuracy when the sensors are positioned such that they are opposite to each other. If optimised for accuracy the maximum distance between the two sensor units could be in the range of 5,5m. In case for optimising for measuring volume the distance should be around 9m. |

In both cases the sensors are synchronised and aligned towards the same coordinate system. The alignment procedure is to be done only once at the beginning of the system installation. This alignment will be stored and can be reused as long as the systems do not move. Independent from which sensor unit the probe is visible all measurement values are given in the same coordinate system. |
