ISIS sentronics GmbH (a limited liability company) was founded from Dr. Alexander Knüttel in the year 2006 as spin-off from ISIS optronics GmbH. Minority shareholders are the LeonardoVenture GmbH from Mannheim / Germany. A refined and improved optical technology out of the medical business from ISIS optronics is employed for industrial applications. Target markets for ISIS sentronics are optical, contactless sensors and systems for the industrial metrology business, mainly focussing on the production environment.
Several market segments are covered: Wafer/ Semiconductors, Foils/ Coatings and Automotive/ Maschined Parts and Microsystems. Using the patented SCI Technology, 3-dimensional profiles and micro-flaws can be detected in a very fast and accurate manner. ISIS manufactures and distributes unique in-line sensors a) called StraDex, for evaluation of multiple layers and b) called RayDex, for 3D profiling of small interiors (diameter: 1 mm). |

Spectral Coherence Interferometry technology (SCI)
First the sensor head optically encodes the broadband light after reflection from the object, which directly depends on the distance to the object. This signal information is relayed to the evaluation unit via the same optical fiber cable which illuminated the object. Within the patented optical decoding module, the signal information is generated from the measured signal intensity per distance.
After opto-electronical conversion, amplification and processing in the DSP (“Digital Signal Prozessor“), the corresponding signal information is available for external units.
Extremely rapid sequential variation of optical filter parameters within the decoder unit permit a depth scan (tomogram)/ layer information or a topological profile (topogram) at sub-ms rate.
It can evaluate topography, roughness, freeforms or very small interior spaces during process control with our patented SCI technology. This offers a true alternative to mechanical tactile systems, particularly in very dynamic production processes.
